The spiritual struggle came to mind as I sought more information on the spiritual battle we have as Christians. Your site came up in my google search and was a great help.

I was able to to turn away a viscous fear this morning, God directing me to your site, and the beautiful passages that you had assembled. 2 CO 9:8. ISA 58:11, ROM 12:2. There will be the light of Christ shining in this home today and I will continue to pray on the query you posted, In what door, and with what lie? I am grateful today for the ways in which God works through us all. Thank you

I just wanted to know if theres any one who has suffered,in the way of someone that over powed a pregnancy, and had a miss carriage by that other person. witchcraft involved caused a misscarriage from my molther in law to keep me from having a baby i had cramping feelings and the scratching of fingernails in my inside of my uteris.then i began watery bleeding with the discharge of a beginning of a small miracle.I hope theres some kind of punishment to her. Is this wrong of me to wish bad on her.

I am very sorry for your loss, and in answer to your question, I thought to share these verses with you:

Rom 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
Rom 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

    • Name says:

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; For those who have had extensive occult involvement including the actual practice of witchcraft it would be advisable to seek the counsel of a pastor of a spirit filled Christ centered church involved in the deliverance ministry. Keep in mind that you have power over all demonic principalities in the name of Jesus once you have accepted Christ as your personal Savior and are covered by His blood (“Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name” Luke 10:17). If you believe that someone has used witchcraft on you then you need to be set free. there are scriptures in the bible also. do you belong to a church? I pray you will be set free in Jesus Name Amen.

  5. Campbell says:

I really enjoyed reading your column. All I could do was start praising the name of Jesus and thanking him for everything he has done for me and what he will do for me. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. There’s something about that name. I love it.

Pray also that by the time Carolyn come back into my life, Carolyn will have a burning desire to follow Jesus Christ all the days of her life. Thank you! Wayne

  7. Tee says:

why is that we those who serve God always encounter problems more than non-Christians.
I am a christian but I always encounter problem. Should that be so

    • admin says:

Tee, good question. The answer is because a believer is a threat to the kingdom of darkness; therefore, the devil and his minions come against the saints to discourage, and/ or destroy their faith and witness for Christ. To be strong in the Lord, we must keep God’s armor in place, Eph. 6. God bless!

I think this website with the world as it is today needs this. I had an injury which was usually fatal as a victim of spiritual warfare in a way and with very little chance to live, I did and recovered like a miracle from God. This protection is the great gift of God. Believe miracles can happen every day through prayer and obedience, trust, faith, hope, love.

i was abused for sixty years by an older brother, it came to my mind i wish i had stopped seeing him when i was twenty.I was the one who always tried to make amends with him , i should had stopped seeing him at age twenty it would have been better for me. I deserve respect too. There were three or four bullies that i work under too, that have made a lasting impact on my life. I know the impact I’m checking into a hospital for trauma counseling. thks. andrew

    • admin says:

      Hi Andrew,

I’m sorry Andrew that you, like so many people affected by the sins of others, suffered at the hand of your brother and the other bullies in your life. You are absolutely correct that you have every right to expect the respect of others, a child of God for whom the Lord died. I think it’s great that you are taking the time to take care of yourself by seeking the help you need to deal with the stresses that have been placed upon you. You are not alone in regrets, but I’m sure there are many who would have done things differently in retrospect. I wonder how many times Samson regretted his revealing the secret of his strength to Deliah, just one of many examples.

There must have been an important reason as to why you took your brother’s abuse; with flesh and blood things are bound to be more complicated, or perhaps you weren’t given the resources needed to have done things differently at that time. You see it differently now, and I believe you will find healing for your soul, and can help others who may be going through similar experiences. I will pray for you and believe with you that you will find the peace you seek. Trust God and it will be well with you.

Andrew, it’s rough to be around ungodly behavior, esp. when you have a heart for God, I just thought of Noah, who was tormented by the ungodliness of his time. The eyes of the Lord are on those who follow the golden rule and He hears their prayers :). Nothing is hidden from the sight of the Lord.

Thank you for posting, and along the way, let us know how you are doing.

      God Bless,
      Together in Christ,
      Magdalene

PS: I’m assuming you are a Christian, so keep in mind that you do have a spiritual adversary, who will take advantage of your situation, and fill you with lies about your self worth; resist him, but to God you are lovely and acceptable in Christ.

  14. Grant says:

I foresee the greatest trick that the adversary to the creators will could accomplish, is not that it doesn’t exist. The greatest trick is to convince everyone that it is god. Materialism, and devotion to one that despises freedom and evolution of the soul. We are playing right into it’s game of belief that we are inherently wicked. It’s all about motivation… do what thou wilt, yet love is the law = be free of mind and body, but don’t hurt anyone, for that other individual is a part of you. As for the adversary, this society serves it everyday; with war, hate, fear, and jealousy. -If I can live without jealousy than I’m pretty sure that my creator is far beyond that, besides that’s a human emotion linked to insecurity, isn’t it. If it’s a jealous god than it is not my creator.(Sorry if that seems offensive, but really think about it before dismissing it.) Grant.

    • admin says:

Grant, thanks for the comments, and I’m not offended :). It’s true, no one is really neutral, we are following one or the other. God bless!

hello i have a ? i guess i need to know your input on this, i have been off and own leading worship for a ministries for 10 years , cant deny the anointing on my singing. It is a spirit filled ministry. They were gone to Mexico for about the last 3 years they built a church there. The lord told them to come back here , and last year we joined them again, But now they are wanting to put us though there leadership class after us being behind them so long, she started pulling out scriptures about being holy, and acceptable to GOD the anointing cant be denied.Just being real hard on being a leader for GOD if you don’t want to do this this way well so be it. I have prayed about it and it keeps coming back to me. I have been filled with the holy Ghost for 12 years and curtain that GOD works though all of us as a team. It just seems to me i feel like they are being a little tough on us all we are mature in Christ as well as her. Thank if you could pray and let me know what u here for GOD

    • admin says:

      Hi Shobbs,

I will pray for you over this situation. I don’t know what was meant by the “holy / acceptable” comment, so I will share a few scriptures just for clarification:

      1. We are lovely and acceptable in Christ alone

Eph 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

God calls all believers to sanctify their minds and bodies in conforming to the image of Christ (conforming to what we already have in Christ) vs. the world and the flesh. This should never be applied legalistically, but is a matter of our personal walk with the Lord in the power of Christ. As Christians we walk in the Spirit. As ambassadors for Christ, we hold fast to that which is good and abstain from all appearance of evil.

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

With this said, I don’t have enough information to comment further. For example, is the goal of the class to heighten awareness on biblical, leadership principles in order to serve more effectively, or are you being made to feel that your walk with God is not up to par?

Whatever the reason, I see you are in conflict, so if you wish, you can write me email and we can discuss it further.

      God Bless,
      Magdalene

        Hi,

Thank you for your comments, and forgive this delayed resp. First, could you please tell me what you mean when you refer to yourself and your daughter as being angels? I know some will use the term to describe a person who is good. Would you clarify?

Second, I have not had an exact experience as you describe, but perhaps the Lord is showing you entities influencing your daughter’s life. Pray about it to the Lord, and ask Him to confirm the matter, because if He is revealing this to you, then He will guide you. Say prayers of faith for your daughter’s deliverance and see if you can find out what’s going on in her life that might have opened a door to dark entities.

  21. RONNY says:

    WOW!!
I just sent you a question after reading Spiritual Warfare. I believe when God moves futher away From us, our Hearts becomes more wicked (Harden) and that is why Pharaoh acted the way he did

PHARAOH MOVED AWAY FROM GOD IN DISOBEDIENCE; IT WASN’T THE OTHER WAY AROUND. AS CHRISTIANS, EVEN WE CAN BECOME DISTRACTED AND IT MIGHT SEEM THAT GOD HAS MOVED AWAY FROM US, BUT HE HASN’T. WE HAVE GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT IN US AND THEREFORE HE IS ALWAYS WITH US. WE CAN ALSO BE IN A HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT WHERE NOT MUCH OF GOD’S LOVE IS SHARED, AND THIS CAN MAKE US FEEL THAT WE ARE ALONE, BUT WE ARE NOT.

.also God did say who can tell the Potter what to do with his Creation, one for Honor and one for dishonor.”JOB”

RONNY, ALWAYS STUDY THE OLD TESTAMENT IN LIGHT OF THE NEW TESTAMENT. WE KNOW THAT GOD IS JUST AND PERFECT LOVE, AND THERE IS NO DARKNESS IN HIM AT ALL. I SEARCHED AND FOUND AN ARTICLE THAT EXPLAINS THIS FURTHER, JUST CLICK THE LINK BELOW:

IN THE LIGHT OF THE NT

God did say look at my servent Job, and satan wish was to have Job curse the Lord, for the things lost of this world (House, family, health, money and land)” but the devil fail again” we must understand that the devil wish is to show the angels of heaven that God is not A just and rightous God.his time(satanl) he knows is already over and he wish to hurt God by destroying God’s creation and trying to shame Him.I believe he has told the angles of heaven look at these people, they sin all the time and why does not God destroy them.

YOU CERTAINLY HAVE THIS RIGHT 🙂

I (satan) sin and I’m cast out, but Jesus sent by God in sin fullflesh, but was sinless. as a living sacifice for us. and the bible tell us clearly that had the powers of this world would have know of God’s plan they woud have never kill our Lord. so with job,God said take those thing but do not Harm him. Not because he was rightous but because he love the Lord.

I JUST WANT TO SAY HERE THAT THE WORD SAYS, JOB WAS UPRIGHT AND ONE THAT HATED EVIL. THE LOVE OF GOD IS VERY MUCH TIED INTO THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD.

God’s people Love him more then things of this world. God does want you to Honor your mother and father but Jesus said my mother and brother are those that Loves the LORD your GOD. you as many others take one passage out of the bible and say look at this, read all of luke14: like luke:33 so likewise, whosever he be of you that foresakth not all that he hath cannot be my desciple.

RONNY, YOU ARE TAKING A PREVIOUS POST OUT OF ITS CONTEXT HERE. THE DISCUSSION WAS IN REGARDS TO “HATE.” YOU SHOULD GO BACK AND READ THE POST. THE EXAMPLES INCLUDED MORE THAN HONOR YOUR MOTHER AND FATHER. ALSO, BEFORE WE CAN BECOME A DISCIPLE, WE MUST FIRST GET SAVED, AND YES, ONE CANNOT HAVE ONE FOOT IN THE WORLD AND ONE IN HEAVEN (SO TO SPEAK) AND BE ALL FOR CHRIST. BUT WHETHER ONE IS A GOOD OR NOT SO GOOD DISCIPLE, THEY ARE STILL SAVED, IF THEY ACCEPTED CHRIST AS LORD. SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT OF GOD TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE.

when you read you must understand in what content is God speaking to or about. every saint wanted one thing and that was to suffer for God’s sake. the flesh means nothing. if you love you life in this world you will lose it.but, if you lose your life for God you will have life internal. Jesus did say i speak in parables so that they could not understand and repent and be saved. only Gods elect will be saved and they are the ones that loves him. God said if you love me you will follow my commandment.you want to know if you are saved,How much to you love the Lord, because you are comanded to love him with all your heart mind and strenght.

HERE YOU ARE IN ERROR. WE ARE NOT SAVED ACCORDING TO HOW MUCH WE LOVE, WE ARE SAVED BECAUSE WE BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST WAS SENT BY GOD TO SAVE US AND ASKED IN FAITH TO BE SAVED. ANYONE WHO CALLS UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED, AND THERE IS NO ELITE GROUP OF ELECT OR SPECIAL PRIVILEGE, EXCEPT ALL THAT BELIEVE. YOU CAN CHOOSE TO BELIEVE THAT CHRIST PURPOSELY USED PARABLES SO SOME WOULD NOT BE SAVED, I DO NOT HOLD THAT POSITION. I ALREADY ANSWERED THAT POINT IN MY OTHER POST, SO WE WILL HAVE TO DIAGREE. WE CAN ONLY LOVE GOD IN AS MUCH AS WE KNOW HIM, AND THEREBY WE GROW IN OUR LOVE FOR GOD AND THE BODY OF CHRIST. IT IS A UNIQUE PROCESS OF GROWTH FOR EVERY INDIVIDUAL.

BELOW ARE SOME VERSES RE: SALVATION

Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Joh 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

    END

and I pray God that one day I will hear the words well done, you have fought the good fight. and that is why I am so happy I found this site. I was trying to find just what was happening to me the more I read the word the more I got these sinfull thoughts. I found this site. and I understand what is happenig to me. i went to bed so angry at someone at work and I kept praying about it and asking God to forgive my thoughts and as soon as i took my mind off of God and started to dream, once again i was choking this person again.( for real) I thank God for this site i have been reading the comment and really understand how lost this world is. all of us are dealing with sin, but with all my faults I am better today in Christ then i was the day before, God will complete the work he started in us if we faint not, amen thanks again. walk with God and be a Blessing.

RONNY, YOU SAY THAT PEOPLE TAKE GOD’S WORD OUT OF CONTEXT, BUT FROM MOST OF WHAT YOU SHARED, BE CAREFUL THAT YOU ARE NOT THE ONE TAKING GOD’S WORD OUT OF CONTEXT. I SAY THIS WITH ALL GOOD INTENTION.

I AM GLAD YOU FOUND THE HELP YOU NEEDED ON SPIRITUAL WARFARE ON THIS SITE.

    GOD BLESS!

      Hi Karen,

Thank you for your comments! I will pray for you. It is true that the attacks of the devil can feel quite intimidating. Whenever I feel that way, I find great comfort in reading the psalms of David. He struggled with his faith when he was in trouble, but then he would remember the Lord’s mercy and goodness, and encourage himself in the Lord, and always found his deliverance. God Bless!

  25. Jariah says:

God created the devil to be a liar and a deceiver from the beginning.

“The devil was a liar from the beginning.”

Satan’s Kingdom is controlled by God.

It’s all part of God’s dramatic play.

Don’t get caught in the middle.

    • admin says:

      Jariah,

The information you posted on the site is not from the Bible. God did not create the devil to be a destroyer that being his own choice. If God is the source of all life, love and blessings, how can we have light without Him. When the devil chose to rebel against God, he abandoned his life source and only darkness remained. God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

Also, Jesus Christ got in the middle for us, and greatly suffered, and did so for our benefit. Jesus Christ laid down His life for you, Jariah, and Jesus Christ is the light of God in this world.

1Jn 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

      God Bless!

  27. Gideon says:

Thank you very much for your response and the many scriptural references. Regarding the parables in which Jesus spoke in, those were the verses I had in mind. If you have the time, could you possibly share with me verses that speak of God loving Jacob and hating Esau? It is often explained that hate meant “loved less,” but I don’t have any scriptural backing for any reasonable explanation. I can only recall one other place where Paul mentions it in Romans. Thank you very much; may God bless you and reveal His truths.

    • admin says:

Gideon you’re welcome and my pleasure to share!

In answer to your question “Esau have I hated

Rom 9:13As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

If you read the context of this verse in Romans 9, the subject matter is about who God chose to lead His people. Jacob represented Israel and Esau the Edomites. Now remember that Esau sold his birthright for red pottage, and the Edomites often fought against Israel. God, in His wisdom and foreknowledge chose Jacob over Esau.

      Vincent’s Word Studies explains,
The expression is intentionally strong as an expression of moral antipathy. No idea of malice is implied of course.

      Another Example:

God’s commandment is: Honor thy father and mother

      Yet we are told:

Luk 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

The emphasis again centers on “choice.” The context of this verse is God’s invitation to the Kingdom of God via His servant. In this parable, the people start to make excuses ( I have a family, land to care etc), and turn down the Lord’s invitation.

It would seem that the word “hate” in these contexts is probably a figure of speech for emphasis and strong contrast regarding choices, and appear to be absolute in nature.

First, Scripture states that “God is Spirit, (Jn 4:24)” and “God is love” (1 Jn 4:8)
Second, “God is light and there is no darkness in Him” (1 Jn 1:5)
Third, “Hate is darkness” (1 Jn 2:11)

      God Bless!

  29. Gideon says:

I have just perused “Why the World, the Flesh, & the Devil, in Spiritual Warfare?” In this article 2 Cor 4:4 is referenced stating that the god of the world is the devil; He hath blinded the minds of them which believe not. It is further backed up by when Satan told Jesus that the whole world had been given to him and all Christ needed to do was bow down to him.
I would like to point out that it was Jesus who spoke in parables so that the crowd would not understand. God hardened Pharaohs heart. He shows mercy upon who he will show mercy.
Did not God create this world? Did not Satan have to ask permission from God to play with Job? Does not the Devil lie? he does not hold dominion over anyone. Satan cannot blind the minds of men who do not believe. It is God who does; he also opens the eyes of those he will save from their blindness. He loved Jacob and hated Esau. John 3:16 For God so loved the world(cosmos); eight meanings, the “world” are those that are His sheep. He saves those he loves, and he blinds the goats. Thank you for your time. I enjoyed the article, thanks for sharing.

    • admin says:

Gideon, thank you for sharing your thoughts.

      1. Although some take the position that Jesus spoke in parables to conceal spiritual truth, I do not hold to that position. Jesus did not speak in parables to make it difficult to understand spiritual truth, but on the contrary, Jesus spoke in parables to gain the interest of the people, and to illustrate by way of the familiar things of life in order to teach spiritual truth. For example: The prodigal son clearly depicts a father’s love and forgiveness towards his repentant son, as an illustration of God’s love for us.

Jesus explains in the verses below his reasons for using parables to instruct:

Mar 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

Mar 4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

Jesus’ inner circle of disciples were already taught of Jesus regarding the kingdom of God, but this was not the case outside the inner circle. The Lord’s concern was that the people may see but not perceive, and may hear but not understand, and therefore, He used parables to drive home the truth.

Mat 13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world. NOTE: reveal not conceal

God’s will concerning salvation is clear: 1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

      2. God does not actively harden people’s hearts against truth, nor did he harden Pharaoh’s heart, except by God’s command for Pharaoh to let God’s people go, in which Pharaoh hardened his heart against God. Read the story and look for the reasons why Pharaoh would not yield to God, via God’s prophet Moses.

      3. Yes, God created this world, but not the kingdoms of this world. Satan is the god of this world’s systems. There is the physical world which God created with all of His creation, but the world systems, as well as sin, sickness and death are authored by the devil, and in this regard, he is called the “god of this world.”

      4. Job was a righteous man who belonged to the Lord and not to the devil. Every believer is under God’s protection. There were other factors involved in the story of Job: he greatly feared his children were sinning and there seems to have been a hedge of protection that may have been broken, but the Lord prevented the devil from taking his life and delivered and blessed him. There is much to the story of Job that no one understands, and they of the OT were not privy to the light of the NT, where we now know about Satan and his kingdom of darkness. Yes, Satan is a liar, and he blinds the minds of many who believe his lies.

Joh 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

I read a book many years ago about spiritual warfare and have been looking for it ever since. The information you provided is just what I need. I am fighting a spiritual battle right now and was looking for the right scripture to combat the devil. Though Satin attacks us on all fronts, I believe we have to wrestle the control of our mind away from him in order to prevail. It is difficult to understand why God is slow to answer. I’ve rebuked the devourer but he is very powerful. Please pray for me. Thank you.

      Larry,

Thank you for your feedback and your love for the Lord. I put your prayer request in my prayer journal, and will be praying for you. Paul said that we are in hand to hand combat with the forces of darkness, and it seems you are really feeling this struggle right now, and it’s not a pleasant place to be that I know. Usually when its that magnified a struggle it is certainly spiritual. Paul knew and tells us to make sure that all of our armor is intact and “stand.” The devil wanted to sift Peter like wheat, and the Lord prayed that his faith fail not. Try not to lose heart and you will see your victory, and know that the Lord is strengthening you. His Holy Spirit is in you and therefore He is always accessible and always with you.

      God bless!

Hi, I love your site but have a hard time reading the text on my iPad with all the brightly colored backgrounds. A light colored background is much easier on the eyes. Thank you for providing a wonderful site.

      Hi Jo,

Thank you for your feedback! I do have all of my articles on light backgrounds, but these being compatible with desktops, laptops, etc., and I can imagine the problems encountered fitting the site onto a smaller device. I can relate to your frustration, and will try to work on a solution. I’m guessing that my main articles are being misaligned to display on the main background color vs. the light. Yes, that would be tortuous reading lol.

      Thanks again & God Bless!

I have never in my life seen a website so accurate and powerful in the truth of God and His Word. I am coming out of a cult and this is such a validation of truth. Thank you for dispensing such powerful and accurate truths. God brought me here for a very real reason and may you be blessed by His presence forever!!

      Kurt,

Thank you for your gracious feedback! I am genuinely joyful that your love for God’s Truth gave you the victory over this cult! Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty, and there are times we have to fight to take hold of it, but take hold of it we will, for greater is He that is in us than he that’s in the world.

      Together in Christ,
