A Response
All those who have accepted Jesus
Christ as their Savior will receive a new body fit for heaven and
eternal life. Our present, earthly bodies are perishable and subject to
death, but by God's power, in an instant,
they shall be changed into a new body at
the resurrection.
God's promise of eternal life is God's
gift of salvation to all those who believe in Christ.
1Co 15:42 So also is the resurrection of
the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
1Co 15:50-57 Now this I say, brethren, that
flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth
corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We all
shall not sleep (die), but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the
twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and
the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For
this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on
immortality. But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption,
and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then it shall come to pass
the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death,
where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting? The sting of death is
sin; and the power of sin is the law: but thanks be to God, who giveth
us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Note: This is also known as the rapture. It
is written to the church and there will be believers living at the time
this resurrection occurs. For those who claim that the rapture is a
fallacy the Apostle Paul says,
1Co 15:12-15 Now if Christ be preached that
he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no
resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead,
then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our
preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false
witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up
Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
