Renewing
the Christian Mind with the Word of God
Introduction
Renewing the mind is a fairly new
addition to this website; therefore, it will take time to build up the
table of contents of biblical topics and their respective verses (see the Daily Blessing page
if you would like join this online Scripture memory or meditation series). The main purpose for beginning
this series is to provide believers with easy access to the "sword of the
spirit," which is the Word of God, and our daily armor in spiritual
warfare, for the pulling down of strongholds. According to the Apostle
Paul, we pull down strongholds through our thought life, in which we change our
thinking and allow the
power of God to operate in us. Paul wrote,
2Co 10:4-5
"For the
weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling
down (demolition/ extinction) of strong holds (dominated or occupied by the
enemy); Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself
against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the
obedience of Christ."
In other words, as we renew our
thinking and lives according to God's Word, truth and power, we are not only
transformed into the image of Christ, but we are
given the ability to tear down any footholds that the enemy may have sown in our lives, not only in our own lives but
also in the lives of others.
This
series will provide a diversity of bible topics and verses for the
various areas of a believer's life, for continued growth in the
knowledge of Christ and our
Christian walk with Him.
2Ti 2:20-21
But in a great house there are
not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some
to honour, and some to dishonor. If a man therefore purge himself from
these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's
use, and prepared unto every good work.
It is my hope, that all aspects of
this website will become a place of encouragement to all who visit. As
Christians, let us band together wherever we may be and fight the good fight of
faith, love and power against all the works of darkness, and not only set
ourselves free with the Truth of God but set others free as well.
Isa 58:5 Is it such a fast that I have
chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a
bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a
fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
Isa 58:6 Is not this the fast that I have
chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let
the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
God's Promises to Those Who Do
Isa 58:14
Then shalt thou
delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride
upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy
father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
Psa 37:4
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of
thine heart.

Verses on Renewed Mind
The Apostle Paul wrote,
Eph 4:21-32
If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the
truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation
the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be
renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in
righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying,
speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of
another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your
wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no
more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which
is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Let no corrupt
communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the
use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve
not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of
redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and
evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one
to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for
Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Col 3:10-11
And have put on
the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that
created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor
uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all,
and in all.
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the
Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let
us also walk in the Spirit.
Rom 12:2
And be not conformed
to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that
ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of
God.
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us
exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be
partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in
the world through lust.
2Co 3:18 But we all, with unveiled
face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed
into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the
Spirit.
