Magdalene you are definitely on target. Too Many believers are carnal in their thinking which is why it’s hard to get them to see that the dying of Jesus on the cross speaks of the death of the entire human race in the eyes of God through Jesus Christ. The only life we have so far as God is concerned is through Christ. This is plainly stated in Galatians 2:20: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” The Message bible makes it even plainer: “I identified myself completely with him (Christ). Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living (now) is not “mine,” but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. So then encouragement, and the challenge to carnal-minded Christians who seek to impress God and men by physical works and appearances is found in Colossians 3:1-3: “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” This is where our strength is found; not in the ego, but in the incorruptible seed that can never be tainted nor terminated as was the flesh that died with Christ. Thanks for the confirmation.
Thank you Robert for your well thought out response to this post! Many will be blessed to read it. How amazing is the perfect work of Christ, that His seed within us is incorruptible. Unlike the old man, there is nothing we can do to corrupt the “new man.” Praise God! To overlook this profound truth is to overlook the gospel message in its entirety.
Wow! What an awesome website! I really wish your site provided a more indepth analysis of conflict resolution management. Based on what I’ve seen in your commentary, we could really benefit from a closer look at what the bible says about how we should problem solve in a way that is honoring to God and not based upon the dynamics of ego in our flesh. For me it would be very timely to find something in the next few days to help me obtain a Godly perspective on this topic.

As Scripture states, the conflict is between the flesh and the Spirit, and the resolution is to put on the “new man,” in which this process begins in our thought life. It’s not about perfecting the old man, as the old man was crucified with Christ and is now dead; it’s about walking in the Spirit and bringing every thought into captivity to God’s light and truth, and live. In this we truly worship God,
Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
There is nothing wrong with taking a good look at ourselves, and gaining insight into the “who, what and whys” (family backgrounds, culture, wrong teaching, life’s experiences both good and bad). As we know, life isn’t simple, and there are times we will be fighting strongholds in our flesh, and we need to take the time to understand their hold on us, and to give the devil less of an advantage over us, but the resolution is always in the Spirit, and God’s call to walk in newness of life, for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
